Natural Attraction Ecology in action
The madness of Industrial Society habituates us to think in ways that conquer and exploit the gifts of nature, in and around us. We suffer because we rarely learn how to benefit from and strengthen the grace and restorative powers of nature in and around us.
The process of Educating Counseling and Healing With Nature helps us remedy this omission in our education. If you are not using it, aren't you part of the madness? Don't you feel its stress and unreasonableness?
Earth is sane because the grace of the natural flow that sustains our planet's web of life, including us, is self-correcting and renewing. This flow enables nature to produce its optimums of life, diversity, cooperation, beauty and wellness without producing any garbage. Its perfection does not produce our excessive pollution, disorders or abusive and unreasonable relationships.
We are each part of the nature's global ecosystem and to be part of any system, one has to somehow be in communication with the system and vice versa. Otherwise, we may unknowingly injure the system and it, us.
We each inherit 53 natural senses that give us the ability to communicate with natural systems. We suffer many disorders because, over 98 percent of our lifetime, Industrial Society pays us to conquer our natural senses rather than how to think and relate with them in conjunction with natural areas, backyard or back country.
Project NatureConnect teaches you how to benefit from the intelligence of your 53 natural senses. We help you make genuine sensory contact with the web of life and strengthen your ability to make sense.
Summary: To increase personal, social and environmental well being, SaneEarth.com empowers you with an organic form of psychology. Via your 53 natural senses it helps you revive your innate abiity to connect and think with nature and its renewing flow within and around us, not against nature as is our habit in Industrial Society.

A Course Participant's Report:
"To do this on line course activity, I am on the beach with my dogs. It's a very windy day so I sit with my back to the wind on the warm sand. I touch the sand and feel the wind and the heat of the sun on my face, tossing my hair about, I see into the vastness of the sky and watch the trees and grasses dancing in the wind. I repeat the word attraction and this word takes me beyond my experience into our experience, our experience of each other and everything.
The simple science and truth of the word
attraction awakens me to how language can contribute to well being. Attraction is the natural system vibration rippling out from the core of our connecting. Other words did not work for me.This is a step beyond God being a story and my worship of that story. It is an experience, a direct, conscious, sensory contact with the eons that registers in my mind and enables me to transform my stress into attraction relationships with people and places."

(continued below)"From a brain injury in a cycling accident, Bart, a writer, could no longer write or hold his job due to head pain. For years he suffered constant agony that that did not respond to repeated surgical, chemical, psychological and meditation treatment. He sought alternatives from the Internet, discovered Organic Psychology and took an eight week online class in it. As part of the course, he did nature-connecting webstring activities with an attractive group of trees in the center of his village. His heightened sensory relationship with them and with his online course classmates enabled him to overcome his pain; he was able to write again and went back to work successfully.
When the village trees were later to be removed for industrial development, Bart passionately rallied the town to protest their demise. The town saved the trees and became more involved with Organic Psychology, too."

OVERVIEW:
Planet Earth has the unique ability to correct and purify itself. It produces its optimums of life, diversity, peace and cooperation without creating garbage, pollution or our excessive stress, competition, abusiveness and isolation. Earth's ability to do this is a global web of life sanity that all of life, including us, naturally inherits.
Our lives are a seamless continuum of the natural world's balance beauty and perfection. Together we and it are the life support systems that sustain Earth and us.
Contemporary society socializes us to think and feel that for our survival, profit or progress we must separate from, conquer and exploit the balanced ways of nature. We are paid and otherwise rewarded to fight an undeclared war against Earth and its natural processes within and about us. This is sheer madness. It is insane to knowledgeably injure the magnificent integrity of the natural world, our personal and collective life support system. Our stressful discomfort from the irrationality of this assault on our senses and sensibility spawns most of the disorders and troubles we suffer.
SaneEarth.com offers practical, sensory science methods and materials that help us increase our personal and environmental well being. It enables us to remedy our misguided thinking and bring nature and society into a happy balance by learning how to create moments that let Earth teach.

Ecopsychology in Action
Are you one of the resilient few?
Less than one percent of contemporary society today has the environmental and social consciousness needed to help restore the missing flow of natural systems in our personal and collective psyche. Subsidized training is available to support and empower this small but highly significant group. It gives them the natural sensitivity strengthening tools necessary to help themselves and others increase personal, social and environmental well being. This is critical for the health of our lives and all of life as we know it.
Homepage.Things To Think About.
When we don't use Organic Psychology, even when we visit a natural area the challenges of our relationships, technologies and economics habitually fill our mind. We continue not to think in tune with the way nature sustains well being, and our problems continue.
Information alone does not produce the behavior and health improvements we desperately need for personal and global wellness. For example, the information on a cigarette package warning label seldom reduces the bonds that keep us smoking. These destructive sensory bonds consist of nature-disconnected, disrupted and misguided natural attractions. However, being an essence of natural systems, these bonds do respond to the powerful self-correcting flow of natural system attractions and sensations.
Organic Psychology is a profound social technology. Being organic, it provides our thinking and feeling with the means to reconnect with and benefit from the renewing "higher power" of authentic nature's purifying ways.
Organic Psychology is an accredited, subsidized conflict resolution, ecopsychology tool that strengthens peace within and around us. Readily available via the Internet and books, it enables our intellect and spirit to increase personal and global well-being.

In industrial society we personally and collectively betray the natural psychic pulse. We erode our ability to sustain well-being and peace by eliminating more than 98 percent of the sensory expression and "know how" of natural systems that would otherwise register in our consciousness. This profound loss desensitizes our psyche and limits our thinking. It underlies the great troubles we suffer (1, 4).

A Report From an Online Organic Psychology Course Participant
Language gets in the way of direct relationship with nature as far as I am concerned. There is nothing that words can express that is not already present in unspoken sensory connecting attractions with nature. I notice that when people label these attractions, they become attached to the labels. And when labels conflict, so do the folks attached to them and we all suffer.
To do this course activity, I am on the beach with my dogs. The simple science and truth of this word awakens me to how language can contribute. Attraction is the natural system vibration rippling out from the core of our connecting. Other words did not work for me. This is a step beyond God being a story and my worship of that story. It is an experience, a direct, conscious, sensory contact with the eons that registers and enables me to transform my stress into attraction relationships with people and places.
I focus in the clumps of long grasses that are perpetually being massaged by the wind, the play of the light on their long flowing limbs, the aliveness in the freedom of this dance. What feels good to me is the rootedness and stability that support the freedom of the dance, the joy, the relentless motion and the ease of surrender to the play of the wind.
My experience in nature shows me that I am a person who gets good feelings from my attraction to the dancing grasses. Witnessing the mutual support of stability & freedom, roots and branches, gives me a sense of wholeness and meaning. I love experiencing my inner dance of freedom reflected in the natural world. It is as satisfying as my own dance, in fact it is my own dance.
Later, when I read over this statement I have written I am instantly brought back to the experience, the sensations come alive again within me and I can feel a cellular freedom.
This activity is very healing for me because it re-unites me with my Environment, giving me a deep sense of belonging. By sensing with my whole body, a somatic empathy, I sense my sensual connection with the world and the web of life.
I am reminded of the weather last winter (nearly 4 feet of snow in the first few days) I rarely ventured far from home, rather I spent my days outside-snowshoeing along the cliffs, wandering through the woods, building snow caves, or often just sitting looking out across the ocean, watching the sunset, feeling the wind caressing my face. I noticed a transition during my time there-for the first week or so I found myself very scheduled, feeling the need to always be "doing" yet the longer I was there the more I found myself able to relax and flow with the more natural rhythms around me. I had arrived there feeling very unbalanced, depressed, unsure of my next step and what direction to head. Nature taught me how to relax, how to breathe.
I remember going out on the porch after several days of storms and in the stillness that surrounded me I felt this amazing sense of calmness enter me. In having time to simply be fully present, I became aware of so much beauty that would have been lost in a more rushed existence, the way the wind mingled the scents of salt and wood smoke, how fresh snow balanced on the pines, or the contrast of the red sapling's new growth against the whiteness of the ground. Not only did I find a deeper connection to nature during my time there, but I also, for really the first time truly connected with myself and who I was/am. I also came away with an amazing sense of balance that these activities help me sustain and renew.
I strongly identified with what Alice wrote in her email: "The course activity and experience in nature showed me that I get good feelings when I allow nature to calm me through the comforts of melodic sound that was produced by the river following it's journey to the ocean. The melody it created from pushing it's way through the rock beds communicated to me the inherent wisdom of nature itself, and as I am part of nature I need only to listen to the whispers of the river to realize that wisdom in myself. The sound was not one of repetition, as I could hear subtle differences in the rhythm, volume level, and tune as time passed by. This made me aware of the communication and connection that was happening between all the living things (including myself) and the water. There was such a sense of peace and security that I felt that I was watching time slow down. My mind and body did not fight this concept but accepted it, which allowed room in my mind for even more communication. I thanked the river and the comforts of the bank that I sat on for connecting my to a sense of belonging and security that had been missing from a day that had consisted of trying to meet the unrealistic demands of an unrealistic society.
The whole of nature is sensitive, it works that way, it connects in that way, it sustains itself in that way. I do too, I sense and connect and sustain myself in a similar way. However, I also think in a different way than natural systems do; I have been conditioned to think in the abstract, outside of the moment, through symbols, not through chemical and energy attractions. Thus, I may suffer from the difference of information from these two sources. Which one should I trust in the case of difference?
Through this course I am learning to find consensus; I wait and obtain consent to gather more information from 53 natural senses, including a further analysis from my abstract intellect. Doubt simply means that more information is needed; you can say it is a natural attraction through frustration to find more natural attractions and gather more information in order to reach consensus. So I mistrust nature at times in order to feel compelled to sense more. In looking through the list of 53 natural senses I can see that this is my sense of reason being called into play. No surprise, it feels sensible.
Response to other emails I have received from course members:
Sally, I never thought before about how severe weather forces everyone to notice nature. I have frequently thought of running for my activity but couldn't figure out how to ask permission from the natural area since I would be moving from place to place, how genius in its simplicity to just ask the whole area for permission. I share your feeling of wanting to stay so often, yet I don't. I return to the concrete playgrounds and have to remind myself to look up.
Chuck, Wow! It was really amazing to read the description of you in place of the rock's description, how powerful.
Jane, I'm sitting in a coffee shop working and until I read your entry I didn't even notice that I'm basically surrounded by houseplants. I can feel their warmth and you have reminded me once again that my breath is a gift to them as theirs is to me. Thank you!
Robert, I love your line about not dying, It made me laugh aloud. Sometimes I pretend the traffic is the ocean waves crashing, it helps me when I'm feeling particularly boxed in. Your ability to listen to the messages around you never ceases to amaze me. I love that you can hear what's calling you and are not afraid to answer back. Your experience was inspirational.
Sandy, its so hopeful to hear you say "I like nature leading me. I am noticeable more relaxed, I drive the speed limit."
Andy, although I don't have your disorders, your introduction, below, gave me confidence in doing this course with you:
"I'm Andy Prescott. Poet. Wombed in Nature disconnection. Mom smoking tobacco and drinking alcohol. As did Dad. He was also emotionally distant.
"Let him cry," the doctor who delivered me told my parents --as doctors did in 1953-- when I wouldn't stop. After 2 weeks of this, doc figured out I wasn't getting milk from mom. 6' 2'' and 143 lbs. when I got to high school. A type-one (insulin-dependent) diabetic at age 18. Diagnosed Bipolar with Post Traumatic Stress Syndrome and panic attacks, unable to sleep in 2002. Sex and love addict since age 12. First poem: "Let's Get Drunk Together."
Unable to stop acting-out in my addictions even after 3 inpatient treatment-centers lasting a year and a half--and a care-home, I returned home to get my papers out of storage to finish my book. I came upon a brochure for Project NatureConnect I had gotten at our local Ecology Park. I'd ordered our RECONNECTING WITH NATURE text and HOW NATURE WORKS. I noticed a very high addiction recovery rate was reported for severely at-risk students who'd taken the first online course. Unheard of.
I took the "Orientation Course." Obtained the longest sobriety ever. Developed the best blood sugars of any of my doctor's patients: Averaging 130. Reduced my anti-psychotic, sleeping-disorder, panic attack medication from 600 mg./night to 50 mg./night. No longer required my Lamictol Bipolar medication.. Currently getting the most positive reactions of ANY of the artists in city-wide Art Extravaganzas. Beyond all my wildest dreams are coming true."

In industrial society our excessively nature-separated lives mold us to betray the natural psychic pulse. We learn to block from our thinking over 95 percent of the wise sensory callings and fulfillments we normally receive from natural systems and their eons. Our hurt and frustration from the severed disconnection of these senses underlies our greatest troubles.-Michael J. Cohen

We seldom live and think organically. Most of us unnecessarily suffer from Natural System Dysfunction (NSD) because we live excessively nature separated lives. Over 95 percent of our time is spent indoors. Over 99 Percent of of thinking is out of tune with the restorative workings of natural systems within and around us.
